In partnership with the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, Island GIS, the leading independent GIS (Geographic Information Systems) consultancy and provider of innovative and integrated geospatial solutions for the oil and gas industry based in Edinburgh will be speaking with a team from Google at the Copthorne Hotel, Aberdeen on 14th March 2014.
Island GIS, who announced that it had been appointed as a Google GEO Enterprise Partner in 2013, will be joined by Extended Content Solutions (ECS) at the first Google Roadshow Event in the North East and will explore and discuss technology and innovation in the Oil and Gas Industry, with specific focus on mapping, geo-solutions and enterprise search.
Island GIS, have broad GIS experience across offshore and onshore exploration. They will demonstrating how the integrated management of geographic information and recent technological advances in mapping technologies can create efficiencies across the Oil and Gas supply chain. From early stage exploration to operations management, they will case study how companies have maximised the value of their information and scale this to keep pace with the future of the growing "GEO" Services industry. “Within the Oil & Gas industry, the opportunities that GEO technology can deliver in helping solve the real challenges that many organisations face is just not fully understood,” says Paul Edmunds, CEO, Island GIS. “This event will allow delegates to understand how operational effectiveness and financial efficiencies can both be improved within the Energy and Oil & Gas sectors”.

The finale of the event will be an exciting and inspiring presentation by the Google team, consisting of Derek Freel, Enterprise Search Account Executive at Google who will provide an insight into how Search and Mapping can be maximised within the industry using the latest technology and techniques, Tore Dimmestol, Enterprise Geo Account Manager who will explain how Mapping is and can be used within E&P. and Oliver Colinet, EMA Director, Sales Engineering who will share a broader perspective on the global future of technology and the world of innovation.
