Critical contribution to major utilities project performance
Working with Scottish and Southern Energy on the Beauly Denny project, a web based service was developed to contain multiple spatial data layers considering construction, infrastructure, ecology, archaeology and health and safety sources, issues and sensitivities and manage project critical communication constraints. Specifically the service considered 599 sites, 276km of access track and provided live and up to date information to 460 people via a range of technology platforms, whenever they needed it.
“Island GIS worked with us to develop the platform for the Beauly Denny OHL project and provided us with the access, support and expertise without which, there would have been a significant negative impact from an environmental, financial, legal, programming and reputational perspective. By working with Island GIS we have made substantial cost savings across the project in terms of delivery and communication and avoided a number of potentially costly delays. The Island GIS team have developed and delivered everything set out and required as part of this project and are a highly supportive, expert and effective partner to work with”.
